From January to April 2009 Earthwise volunteers enjoyed a wide range of recreation trips.
Our schedule gives us 1-2 day trips each week and a week-long “epic” every sixth week.
in 2009 trips included:

– great lake kayaking & camping
– tongariro national park and ascent to the summit of Ruapehu – we were snowed on in the middle of summer (26th february!)
– learning to surf
– seakayaking on the coromandel
– indoor rockclimbing
– whitewater rafting
– greenstone carving
– road trips with visits to crafts, hotpools and other organic farms
… and many forest walks & beach days
